Founded by John Paul DeBard in 2005, Soul Shaker Records has produced albums for Scott Marshall and Marshall's Highway, The Hillbilly Souls, Jay Lapp and Stefanie Johnson and has help navigate the careers of American Idol contestant Marisa Rhodes and the winners of WZZO's Back Yard Bands™ competition Stasis. Additionally, Soul Shaker Records works with young talent offering voice and instrument coaching.

On November 5, 2011 Stefanie Johnson and Jay Lapp set their sights on Nashville, TN where they spent the week recording at Omni Sound Studios, meeting with major and independent record companies, meeting with music publishers and playing gigs at the legendary Bluebird Cafe, 12th & Porter and the Maxwell House Millenium Cafe.
 
What a week!

The week was capped off by attending the 2011 CMA Awards followed by an after party at The Palm where we hung with TV personalies, music industry executives and a particular fun group who fed Stefanie calamari.... (It's just like onion rings)

Stefanie and Jay are scheduled to go back to Nashville in January to finish the preleminary work on Stefanie's debute album.
